I am a full-time Kindergarten teacher in Campbell, CA. I write songs and develop activities to help teachers use music and other modalities to engage students in early literacy lessons. I recently presented at the California Reading Association Conferences in November, 2006 and 2007 and the California Kindergarten Conferences in January, 2007 and January 2008! "Silly Songs For Sight Words" helps students learn how to read and write 18 beginning sight words. The songs help students not only recognize and spell the words, but use the words in an engaging context rich medium. Accompanying mini-books give students a chance to practice writing the words and illustrating their own song books. Primary teachers can enjoy incorporating easy tunes and fun lyrics to make sight words "stick" for students. With the recent addition of 9 new songs, now students can learn 35 words through 25 Silly Songs for Sight Words.
